PHILADELPHIA -- Corey Perry had two goals and an assist for the Tampa Bay Lightning, who handed the Philadelphia Flyers their eighth straight loss with a 7-1 win at Wells Fargo Center on Sunday.

Victor Hedman and Ross Colton each had three assists, and Ryan McDonagh had a goal and two assists for Tampa Bay (15-5-4), which was coming off a 3-2 overtime win at the Boston Bruins on Saturday. Brian Elliott made 38 saves.

"We knew we had to weather that first six minutes," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. "Short turnaround for us. They pushed and 'Moose' (Elliott) was there for us. You need your goalie to make those saves until we get our legs."

Cam Atkinson scored for Philadelphia (8-10-4), which is 0-6-2 in the past eight games. Martin Jones made 10 saves in relief of Carter Hart, who allowed five goals on 15 shots.

"Obviously we're embarrassed, there's no question about that," Atkinson said. "Our fans are disappointed. They support us and to lay kind of a goose egg like that in front of them, it's embarrassing."

The Flyers carried play early, getting six shots on goal in the first five minutes of the game.

However, McDonagh gave the Lightning a 1-0 lead at 8:24 when he knocked in the rebound of a Steven Stamkos shot, and one minute later, Perry made it 2-0.

"We started well, we had a good few good shifts," Flyers forward Claude Giroux said. "They scored one and then we didn't play the right way."

The Lightning credited Elliott, who had a season high in saves, for keeping them in the game.

"He hasn't played a whole lot (five starts), but when he has he's stepped in there and really helped us," Perry said. "It's a big calming influence back there when you have a guy who can step in at any given point and do what he did."

Elliott signed with the Lightning on July 28 after playing the previous four seasons with the Flyers.

"Anytime that you come to a building that you've played a while at, you want to have success, you want to shake off the demons," he said. "It's something that you definitely circle in the calendar, and if you get a chance to play, you want to do your best."

Taylor Raddysh put Tampa Bay ahead 3-0 at 2:56 of the second, and linemate Boris Katchouk poked in a loose puck at the side of the net to make it 4-0 at 6:47.

It was the second straight game with a goal for Raddysh after he scored his first in the NHL on Saturday. Katchouk's goal was his first in the NHL and Colton, who centers the line, had his first multipoint NHL game.

"If we're going to go anywhere, we're going to need that depth scoring," Cooper said. "And now those guys are [scoring] and that's why we're seeing some results. You need those guys to put some pucks in for you."

Mathieu Joseph, who returned to the lineup after missing three games with a lower-body injury, scored shorthanded to make it 5-0 at 8:34. Hart was replaced by Jones after the goal.

Pat Maroon pushed the lead to 6-0 at 5:29 of the third.

Atkinson tipped in a shot by Giroux on the power play to make it 6-1 at 7:04, but Perry scored his own power-play goal at 14:15 for the 7-1 final.

"We'll get back at it here tomorrow (against the Colorado Avalanche)," Flyers coach Alain Vigneault said. "We'll have a couple of quick meetings there, get our guys focused on what we need to do on the ice, and hopefully tomorrow we can bring the energy and a better execution and a better game against a real solid team."

NOTES: The win was the 1,000th in the history of the Lightning, who began play in the NHL in 1992-93. They are 1000-952-154 with 112 ties. ... Tampa Bay defenseman Erik Cernak did not play Sunday and is day to day with a lower-body injury he sustained against the Bruins. ... The Lightning have won 10 straight games against the Flyers. ... Hedman has scored eight points (two goals, six assists) during a four-game point streak. ... The last time the Flyers lost eight straight games (0-6-2) was Dec. 27, 2018 to Jan. 8, 2019.
