This was the first year that the School of Medicine participated in the WES. Eligible staff and non-physician faculty provided feedback with an overall participation rate of 61.9%. A physician engagement survey is set for 2022.
Due to the surge in patients caused by the Delta variant this summer, the release of WES results was delayed allowing teammates to focus on patient care, education and research. In September, results from the 2021 Workforce Engagement Survey (WES) were released and leaders were given the opportunity to review their individual department results. Over the next few weeks leaders will share department-specific results with their team.
This was the first year that the School of Medicine participated in the WES. Eligible staff and non-physician faculty provided feedback with an overall participation rate of 61.9%. A physician engagement survey is set for 2022.
Results indicate that the bond among our team is strong and the relationship between direct managers and their teams is strong. More importantly, teammates believe their work is meaningful and makes a difference – this should be our focus as we begin the work to address areas for improvement based on survey results and feedback.
Three focus areas based on survey results have been identified as opportunities for improvement:
- Culture of Quality Improvement and Safety
- Senior Management Leadership Engagement
- Resilience & Well-Being
Leadership will begin working on plans to address these areas, as well as department specific results, and you’ll continue to hear information in the coming weeks.
