Cesaro and Seth Rollins have been battling on SmackDown for months. Their rivalry continues on Friday night when the pair meets in a qualifier for the Money in the Bank ladder match on SmackDown.
Cesaro and Rollins have been at odds since Rollins' return from a break for the birth of his daughter. After getting the better of things in the ring, Cesaro found himself matched with universal champion Roman Reigns. After losing to Reigns, Cesaro was again attacked by Rollins, setting off their rivalry once again. Things have continued to escalate and Rollins was paired with Cesaro again after taking issue with Edge receiving a title shot at Money in the Bank. WWE official Adam Pearce offered Rollins the qualifying match to establish Rollins' own path toward a title shot down the road.
Another pair of rivals will also be in action in a Money in the Bank qualifier when Shinsuke Nakamura battles Baron Corbin.
It was also announced on Friday afternoon that Bayley had suffered an injury and was out of her planned challenge for the SmackDown women's championship. WWE will announce champion Bianca Belair's new opponent for Money in the Bank during SmackDown.
