Suns vs. Bucks score, results: Phoenix takes Game 2 despite monster Giannis Antetokounmpo performance - Sporting News

sisilihya.blogspot.com

Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo's best efforts, the Bucks are heading back to Milwaukee down 2-0 in the 2021 NBA Finals.

The two-time NBA MVP totaled 42 points (15-of-22 shooting), 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in Thursday night's Game 2, but the hot-shooting Suns still managed to keep the Bucks at arm's length throughout the contest on their way to a 118-108 win. Phoenix hit 20 of its 40 3-point attempts and shot nearly 50 percent from the field as a team.

Devin Booker led all Suns players with 31 points, hitting seven of his 12 3-pointers. Mikal Bridges (27 points) and Chris Paul (23 points) also provided plenty of offensive punch, but the same couldn't be said for Bucks guards Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, who went a combined 12 of 37 (32.4 percent) from the field. They will need to be much better if Milwaukee wants to truly challenge Phoenix in this series.

Final: Suns 118, Bucks 108

11:30 p.m. — The Suns just have an answer for everything. Phoenix is on its way to a 2-0 series lead.

11:20 p.m. — Gotta give credit to the Bucks. They are really battling out there and have cut the Suns' lead down to six.

11:10 p.m. — Devin Booker has been hitting big shots all night long.

End of third quarter: Suns 88, Bucks 78

11 p.m. — That was a 20-point quarter for Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the Bucks have to give him some help. Milwaukee is still looking at a double-digit deficit.

10:45 p.m. — Yeah, so, defending Devin Booker is difficult.

10:35 p.m. — Giannis Antetokounmpo is unstoppable right now. He's got 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting.

10:25 p.m. — Devin Booker from WAY downtown.

Halftime: Suns 56, Bucks 45

10:10 p.m. — What a wild possession. Just check out the ball movement here.

10 p.m. — A quick 8-0 for Phoenix, and the Suns suddenly have their biggest lead of the evening. This crowd is about to explode.

9:50 p.m. — Yes, the Suns ended up scoring on this possession, but what a block by Jrue Holiday.

9:45 p.m. — Jrue Holiday has not been shy about taking his shots. He is up to 12 field goal attempts early in the second quarter, but unfortunately for the Bucks, he has only made three of them.

End of first quarter: Bucks 29, Suns 26

9:35 p.m. — The Suns hit eight 3-pointers in the first quarter, nearly tying an NBA Finals record.

9:30 p.m. — So far, it has been the Bucks' interior attack vs. the Suns' outside shooting.

9:15 p.m. — Giannis Antetokounmpo takes off in transition and throws down the one-handed slam dunk, giving the Bucks the first two points of Game 2.

9 p.m. — Important note: Devin Booker arrived wearing a white suit and Classic Chucks. Clearly this means he will be going off for 50 points in Game 2.

8:45 p.m. — The starters for each team ...

  • Bucks: Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, P.J. Tucker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez
  • Suns: Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Deandre Ayton

8:30 p.m. — Even with the Bucks down 1-0, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is predicting Milwaukee to win the series in six games.
