UFC 249 is ready to commence. After weeks of uncertainty, speculation and reconfiguring, the world's leader in MMA is ready to get back to business with its first offering in over two months with a loaded fight card.
Tony Ferguson is set to take on Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title in the main event while bantamweight king Henry Cejudo takes on former champion Dominick Cruz in the co-main event. Ferguson was originally scheduled to face champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, but as the global pandemic spread and travel restrictions were put in place, the fight was canceled for a fifth time.
Other key matchups on this card include a heavyweight slugfest between Francis Ngannou and Jair Rozenstruik, featherweights Calvin Kattar and Jeremy Stephens going toe-to-toe and fan favorites Anthony Pettis and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone meeting at welterweight.
