Alexandrians headed to the polls Tuesday, casting their votes in the Democratic primary for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and the 45th District delegate race. Here's a look at the projected winners and how Alexandrians voted as results are coming in.

45th District

Alexandria Vice Mayor Elizabeth Bennett-Parker Tuesday night won the Democratic primary to become the party's nominee for the 45th District delegate seat in Richmond. Results were still coming in Fairfax County

"I’m honored to be the Democratic nominee for the 45th District. Thank you for your votes; I look forward to working with all of the Democratic nominees to win in November, and to representing all of HD-45 in Richmond. Special thanks to our incredible team of volunteers who made phone calls, knocked on doors, talked to your neighbors, and handed out campaign literature. This is a grassroots campaign, and I could not have done this without you."

She ran against incumbent Mark Levine, who was also running for the lieutenant governor spot in a crowded race. Levine was running third in that race with precincts still left to be counted.
