UFC Fight Night 190 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card streams on ESPN+.

In the main event, Ciryl Gane (8-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) takes on former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov (33-8 MMA, 7-2 UFC). In the co-feature, Tanner Boser (19-8-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) meets Ovince Saint Preux (25-15 MMA, 13-10 UFC) in another heavyweight bout.

Damir Hadzovic vs. Yancy Medeiros

Round 1 – Hadzovic with an early low kick. Both men patient, and they exchange punches in the center. Hadzovic sticking with the low kicks early. Medeiros walking forward and throws one of his own. Hadzovic with a crisp right, and Medeiros smiles. He answers back with a stiff jab. Medeiros with a spinning kick to the body. They clinch and trade knees inside. Hadzovic lands low, but Medeiros says he’s good. They break apart, and Medeiros scores with a nice right hand. Step-in elbow. Medeiros popping out the jab. Hadzovic still working the legs. Medeiros with a left to the body. Hadzovic lands a nice right hand, and Medeiros asks for more. Medeiros mixing up the targets well. Hadzovic lands a big right. He pushes forward and trips Medeiros to the canvas. Medeiros pops back up quickly. He battles his way free, and they trade punches again. Hadzovic with a few crisp right hands, and they’re both smiling. Spirited opening round. Medeiros to the body and pushing forward. Good first round. MMA Junkie leans slightly toward Hadzovic on the bigger shots, 10-9.

Round 2 – They engage again immediately and trade punches. Hadzovic leans down and is able to get the takedown, but he can’t keep it there. Medeiros quickly back to his feet, but Hadzovic tags him with a flurry of punches. Medeiros walks right through it but can’t keep taking these shots. Into the clinch, and Hadzovic able to spin to the outside. Knees inside. He disengages and flurries again. Medeiros somehow taking all these shots. He’s busted up around the left eye and bleeding. Medeiros holds on briefly, but Hadzovic pulls free and starts punching again. Hadzovic picking his moments but unleashing when he does. Medeiros trying to stay busy but doesn’t have the same zip in his strikes. Still, he’s landing to the body and head. Hadzovic ready to go again. Big shots landing, and Medeiros somehow still upright. He’s showing incredible durability. Medeiros into the clinch. He lands a few nice elbows inside at the end. MMA Junkie gives the round again to Hadzovic, 10-9.

Round 3 – Touch of gloves to start. Medeiros still walking forward. Hadzovic there to answer with a barrage of big punches. Medeiros fights his way off the fence and is moving, but he’s taking damage. The left eye busted up bad, but Medeiros refuses to quit. He’s swinging back. He lands a big left. Hadzovic is exhausted, but the pace is getting Medeiros, too. They clinch, and Medeiros ducks under and slips to the back. He drags the fight to the floor. Medeiros on the back. The left arm is around the neck. He’s hunting for the squeeze. He can’t get the angle, and Hadzovic able to turn inside. Medeiros tries to grab the guillotine, but Hadzovic pulls his head free. They move back to the feet. Both are exhausted. Medeiros able to scores another takedown. He’s on top and landing short elbows. He tries to grab the neck when Hadzovic turns. Not there. Hadzovic crawls to his feet. Medeiros on his back. He’s high, but he stays on there. Medeiros hunting this choke. Hadzovic doing enough to stay alive. One last squeeze at the end. He can’t quite get it. What a fight. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Medeiros, 10-9, but scores the fight for Hadzovic, 29-28.

Justin Jaynes vs. Charles Rosa

Round 1 – Jaynes to the center. Rosa moves right on the outside. Rosa switching stances. Jaynes walking forward. He lands a nice right hand. Low kick scores, and Jaynes lands with a left. Rosa moving well and scores a low kick of his own. Jaynes slips a big left. Jaynes the one walking forward, but Rosa moving very well, switching stances and offering different looks. Jaynes with a nice right hand. Rosa answer with a kick to the body and then one to the legs. Right hands traded. Rosa continues working the legs. Rosa moves forward with a flurry, but Jaynes covers well. He lands a left hand of his own. Both men having moments on the feet. Rosa starting to move forward now. Bog left for Jaynes, but Rosa now stringing together combinations. Rosa firing kicks to different angles now. Rosa shoots inside. He drags the action down. He’s in mount, but Jaynes turns and rolls free. Odd moment in the final seconds as they discuss something. Round ends, and MMA Junkie gives it to Rosa, 10-9.

Round 2 – Rosa forgot his mouthpiece. Slight delay to get it. Jaynes out quickly on the restart. Strikes traded, and Jaynes shoots inside. Rosa grabs the neck as they fall, and he gets to guard. Jaynes patient and pops his head out. Rosa immediately turns and frames and gets back to his feet. Jaynes has the bodylock and doesn’t let it go. Rosa battling the hands and is able to turn inside. He controls the head and snaps down. Rosa controlling from the front and trying to lock in a choke. Jaynes careful not to allow it. Rosa spins to the side. Rosa seated, but he’s got Jaynes’ right arm trapped. Rosa landing some short punches and elbows. Jaynes keeping his head tucked, but Rosa landing to the small part that’s exposed. Jaynes just can’t get that right arm free. He finally tries to adjust, but he’s basically trapped in a crucifix. Rosa’s corner calling for “Gary Goodridge,” wanting the elbows, but Jaynes able to spin at the end. Frustrating round for Jaynes, who was stuck. MMA Junkie gives it to Rosa, 10-9.

Round 3 – Jaynes needs to press, and he moves forward to open. Rosa answers with a few punches and then slips under for a takedown. He’s got it and lands in side control. Jaynes trying to frame, but Rosa teases the arm-triangle, and Jaynes is forced to retract the limb. Rosa spins out to north-south. He’s trying to sit on the choke, but Jaynes reaches over with his arm and is able to spin out and to the feet. Jaynes looking to attack now after the escape. He lands a big left. Two more punches score, but Rosa able to shake it off. Jaynes pressing. Right hand lands. Uppercut scores. Jaynes ducks for the takedown. He’s got it. Right arm is inside, and Jaynes wants the arm-triangle. It’s locked in, and Jaynes dismounts and sits on the squeeze. Rosa able to wait through it. Jaynes has to let go. Rosa counters perfectly, creating a scramble. They go to the feet and then back to the canvas. It’s Rosa in the dominant spot to finish. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Jaynes, 10-9, but awards the fight to Rosa, 29-28,

Julia Avila vs. Julija Stoliarenko

Round 1 – Stoliarenko out quickly, but Avila lands a push kick to the body. Stoliarenko recovers her balance and looks to engage. High kick blocked. She kicks to the body, and Avila nearly catches it before both fighters rattle off punches in tight. Avila holding the center. She land a left hands, and Avila is hurt. Avila sees it and rushes forward to follow. They both start swinging again. Avila getting the best of it, but Stoliarenko scrappy and throwing. They back away to catch their breath after a firefight. Stoliarenko shoots from range, but Avila stuffs it. Two minutes left. Stoliarenko with some blood trickling down from her nose. When they get close, both are throwing flurries of shots. Stoliarenko with a low kick. Avila the aggressor, but she’s respectful of the buzzsaw she has to walk into to land. Jab from Avila answered with a kick to the body. Avila with another stiff push kick to close, and MMA Junkie gives her the round, 10-9.

Round 2 – Avila again takes the center. She lands a stiff jab, and blood already streaming down again from Stoliarenko’s nose. Avila engages, and Stoliarenko again comes back with a wild flurry of punches. Avila is doing damage, but she’s not getting to do it for free. Stoliarenko hits a slick takedown. Avila turns to the leg. Not there, and Stoliarenko takes a look, as well, but they scramble back to the feet. Stoliarenko lands a nice right hand as she stays tight to the body. She presses the action to the fence. Stoliarenko changes levels and wants another takedown, but Avila fights it off and presses down. A few short strikes land, and Avila backs away. Back on the feet, and Avila wants to strike. However, Stoliarenko has other ideas, immediately pressing into a clinch once again. Stoliarenko controlling the body from the outside. She lands a few short knees. Avila not allowing the takedown. They finish in the clinch. MMA Junkie gives it to Stoliarenko, 10-9.

Round 3 – Avila with a stiff jab to start. Superman punch scores. Those were clean. Stoliarenko immediately clinches and drives the action to the fence. She turns her hips to look for the trip, but it’s not there. Avila controls the body and is able to score her own takedown near the cage. Stoliarenko inverts underneath and wants the leg, but Avila clears it and stay on top. Hammerfists from the dominant position. Stoliarenko forced to settle for half-guard. Avila posturing and landing short strikes, but Stoliarenko with a perfectly timed sweep. Avila counters perfectly and spins to the back. Stoliarenko rolls again, trying to create a scramble, but Avila is in control. She looks for the arm. Brief pause in action, and referee Jason Herzog has to reset them slightly. Avila in place on the back. She looks at the arm, but it’s not there. She does have the choke. She squeezes hard, and Stoliarenko has to tap. Gutsy effort from both.

Round 1 – Prachnio with an early low kick as Villanueva looks to press. Prachnio moving laterally on the otisde. Villanueva tags him with a right hand. Prachnio covers against the cage. Villanueva pressing with more punches and digs to the body. Prachnio able to slip away and reset. Villanueva having much early success. Prachnio’s left eye already a mess. Villanueva patient in his attacks, not forcing anything but scoring. Prachnio retreating and trying to get something going. Spinning high kick blocked, and Villanueva goes back on the attack. Villanueva catches a kick but can’t counter. Right hand for Villanueva. Prachnio continues to swing back. Villanueva not overcommitting but staying in his opponent’s face with heavy punches. Prachnio with a nice kick to the lead leg. Villanueva with a stiff right. Prachnio still working the legs, and Villanueva’s left is taking some real damage. Villanueva trips Villanueva in the closing seconds and lands a barrage of punches to close. MMA Junkie gives it to Villanueva, 10-9.

Round 2 – Prachnio out quickly with a left hand. He continues to chop the leg, then adds punches on top. Prachnio punches to the body. Villanueva slowing the aggression a bit, and that’s allowing Prachnio to score. He goes with a kick to the body, and Villanueva folds. Perfect shot got him, and he goes to the canvas, and this is over. Heck of a comeback.

Round 1 – Alves to the center, and Wells circles right before rushing froward and pushing his opponent to the floor. Alves immediately working from his back. Open guard against the cage. Wells with a gift wrap, trapping left arm. Wells with a few big right hands before Alves works his arm free. Few more punches from Wells before backing away to the feet. Alves rises, and Wells tags him with a few big punches and then moving into the clinch. Wells pressing the action to the fence but eventually backs to the center. Wells throwing heavy leather on the feet. Alves careful to stay just out of range. Wells’ corner asking for patience as he drops bombs. Wells presses into the clinch. He looks to drop down for the takedown. Alves grabs the guillotine and falls to the floor. Not there, but he’s able to let go and roll to the top. Alves backs away and lands an axe kick to the body at the bell. MMA Junkie gives the first to Wells, 10-9.

Round 2 – Alves rushes forward this time, but Wells leaps, too. Big jab from Wells scores. Low kick from Alves, and Wells scores with the right hand. Alves is hurt. Wells off-balance, but he recovers and lands another big shot. Alves is out. Wells unleashes a few more before it’s called. Vicious finish.
