The Pennsylvania 2021 primary results are official. They were confirmed Tuesday, the Department of State said.
Among the races for spots on several of the state’s courts:
- Kevin Brobson grabbed 52.21% of the vote to become the Republican nominee to fill the vacancy on the state Supreme Court left by the mandatory retirement of Chief Justice Thomas G. Saylor. He will face the Democratic nominee, Superior Court Judge Maria McLaughlin, in the November general election.
- Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Timika Lane won a three-way primary contest, beating two lawyers in private practice from the Pittsburgh area on the Democratic side. She finished with 48.83% of the vote. She’ll face Republican Megan Sullivan, who ran unopposed for her party’s nomination, in November for an open seat on the state Superior Court.
- Stacy Marie Wallace edged Drew Crompton as the Republican nominees for Commonwealth Court. Wallace finished with 704,706 votes while Crompton had 695,748 votes. There were four candidates running on the Democratic side of the ballot. Lori Dumas finished with 29.7% of the vote, holding off David Lee Spurgeon (26.46%), Amanda Green Hawkins (25.58%) and Sierra Street (18.26%)
Here’s a link to the results of the four ballot questions. The most publicized was the vote to curtail the powers of the state’s governor in a disaster emergency, and Pennsylvania voters became the first in the nation to impose those restrictions. More than 52% of the voters sought that change.
Finally, here are links to the central Pennsylvania county election websites, which list the final results for municipal and school board races.
The general election will take place on Nov 2.
