CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – The pandemic has forced many people to change their habits and routines. It’s even led to the cancellation of many activities and events.
With it now being the fall season and October quickly approaching, how would towns in central Indiana handle trick-or-treating, given the current state of the pandemic?
On Monday, the city of Carmel announced that they would allow children to take part in the annual tradition but did issue several recommendations.
The city said children would be permitted to trick-or-treat on Oct. 31 between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. However, children and adults accompanying those children are asked to wear a mask when unable to social distance.
Homeowners who wish to hand out candy are asked to wear a mask and to keep their porch light on during trick-or-treating hours.
Also, homeowners who have been sick or do not want trick-or-treaters, for whatever reason, are asked to keep their porch light off during trick-or-treating hours.
