Jefferson Transit Authority board members have been looking at their long-range plan for public transportation in Jefferson County.

Members recapped their online open house at their last meeting, where they took a survey ranking priorities, service concepts, and future service goals.

The board received results from 182 respondents who ranked their needs from most to least important.

Access to services and proximity to transit were major concerns when it came to the ranking.

According to the results of the survey, the highest priority for the public was getting from Point A to Point B.

A Kingston ferry connection and later evening services were the most popular among the ranks of targeted service concepts.

Sunday service and routes split between the Tri-Area were also included in the list of concepts.

When it came to the prioritization for the future, the public ranked later evening services at the top of the list, along with expanding transit to areas without current service.

Looking at the results from the survey,  Jefferson Transit will continue to review ways to improve service while finding new ways to increase revenue.
