Kyle Larson finally broke through at Charlotte and earned his second win of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.
The Coca-Cola 600 represented his first win since taking the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas in March. It also broke a string of three consecutive second-place finishes for the Hendrick Motorsports driver. He led 327 of the race's 400 laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
He wasn't the only Hendrick driver to perform well Sunday night. Teammates Chase Elliott, William Byron and Alex Bowman finished second, fourth and fifth, respectively. Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) was the only driver to keep the four-car team from taking the top four spots for the second time this season (the first was at Dover).
With Larson's win, Hendrick Motorsports became NASCAR's all-time leader with 269 victories in the Cup Series.

10:26 p.m.: And there it is. Kyle Larson is your Coca-Cola 600 winner! Followed by Elliott, Kyle Busch, Byron, Bowman, Dillon, Hamlin, Buescher, Reddick and Harvick in the top 10 (unofficially). That's four Hendrick Motorsports drivers in the top five, as well.
10:23 p.m.: Larson has a 10-second lead over Elliott with seven laps remaining. These last few laps are mere formalities.
10:20 p.m.: Considering this is a two-car race between Larson and Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports teammates) this seems pretty much a given.
10:18 p.m.: Only 14 cars are on the lead lap, down to Bubba Wallace in 14th place. Everyone else is two or more laps down.
10:17 p.m.: Eighteen laps to go. Larson and Elliott are still your top two drivers, followed by Byron, Kyle Busch, Bowman, Hamlin, Dillon, Reddick, Buescher and Harvick.
10:05 p.m.: Excellent top-five battle going on between Byron and Kyle Busch:
10:02 p.m.: Either way, here's the top 10 after what should be the last round of pits: Larson, Elliott, Byron, Kyle Busch, Bowman, Hamlin, Dillon, Reddick, Buescher and Harvick, respectively.
10:02 p.m.: Elliott reportedly cursing at Bilicki, too.
10 p.m.: Keselowski pitting now. The Fox telecast crew really lamenting these slower cars (read: Bilicki) who are getting in the way of the leaders.
9:59 p.m.: And now there's Larson coming in a lap later. Let's see how this shakes up the lineup with 52 laps remaining.
9:58 p.m.: Elliott and Kyle Busch follow suit. Larson's still on the track.
9:57 p.m.: Some movement up front: Kyle Busch overtakes Elliott after the latter was stuck behind Bilicki. Byron was in third but is pitting now.
9:56 p.m.: Bad luck for Truex. He sustained some damage to his car and hits pit row. He was 12th at the time.
9:49 p.m.: Larson has now extended his lead over Elliott to 1.39 seconds with 71 laps remaining. Seems like the only significant impediment to him finishing first is the next round of pitting.
9:39 p.m.: It's back to Larson and Elliott as the top two racers. Only 91 laps remaining in the Coca-Cola 600.
9:37 p.m.: Interesting: Kyle Busch, starting second out of the restart, had an incredible acceleration to briefly take the lead from Larson. The two are battling it out for first place.
9:35 p.m.: And now Blaney is hit for speeding entering pit row. Wallace is called for equipment interference after his tire heads into another crew's pit area. They'll head to the back of the lineup.
9:23 p.m.: And that ends the stage, as well. Larson wins Stage 3, followed by Byron, Kyle Busch, Elliott, Bowman, Reddick, Hamlin, Dillon, Wallace and Harvick in the top 10.
9:23 p.m.: Good news for Erik Jones, who got a free pass because of the timing of the caution.
9:22 p.m.: Caution 4, Lap 296. Ryan Newman looks like he was trying to pass Logano on the inside when you see sparks coming out from under his car, causing him to hit the wall. He gets onto pit row without issue.
9:21 pm.: Byron got as close as four hundredths of a second off Larson's lead, but fell back to roughly half a second back.
9:14 p.m.: Meanwhile, it appears the Coca-Cola 600 is a four-car race: Larson, Byron, Kyle Busch and Elliott. The next-closest car, Bowman, is 10 seconds back. Four of the top five are all Hendrick Motorsports cars, with the exception of Kyle Busch.
9:13 p.m.: Quin Houff nearly spins James Davison out with 22 laps to go in Stage 3, but the latter manages to correct and remain on track.
9 p.m.: Some pit stops have moved Larson back to the lead, with Byron, Kyle Busch, Elliott and Bowman rounding out the top five.
8:51 p.m.: Harvick taking an early pit on Lap 38 of Stage 3. The telecast reports that he had a loose tire.
8:48 p.m.: And there's Byron overtaking Larson in the 31st lap of Stage 3. Let's see how long that lasts; Larson has been relentless today.
8:41 p.m.: And now Bell is in pit row, falling off the lead lap.
8:39 p.m.: Christopher Bell seems to have some damage to the right of his car. He hasn't pitted yet.
8:30 p.m.: The top four remains the same coming out of the pit; Harvick and Reddick switch places in the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
8:26 p.m.: The entire field comes to a stop in pit row, single file, for a moment of silence.
8:23 p.m.: Caution 3, Lap 200: Larson sweeps the first two stages, leading 184 of 200 laps.
Elliott, Byron, Kyle Busch, Reddick, Harvick, Bowman, Chris Buescher, Hamlin and Dillon make up the rest of the top 10. Logano and Wallace needed a photo finish to determine 11th place, which offers no points.
8:16 p.m.: And here's Larson to retake the lead from his teammate. His driving is relentless, and his car is running really well.
8:14 p.m.: And now Elliott is in first, an impressive feat considering he was in 11th place heading into the caution.
8:14 pm.: Elliott and Hamlin are currently jockeying for first place with 18 laps till the end of Stage 2.
8:07 p.m.: Bowman's now the leader after the pit under caution.
8:05 p.m.: Caution 2, Lap 173. Kurt Busch got his engine fixed — it was an oil pump belt issue — then attempted to come back onto the track. Then, it exploded. He's now officially done for the day.
7:55 p.m.: Wait, Bell lips now, moving each of Larson, Byron, Elliott and Harvick up a position. Kyle Busch, Reddik, Dillon, Bowman, Truex and Logano make up the top 10.
7:55 p.m.: Christopher Bell is in the lead for now, with Larson, Byron, Elliott and Harvick making up your top five after that last pit. There are 48 laps remaining in the stage.
7:53 p.m.: Incredible scene as Larson and Elliott pitted at the same time and were nose-to-nose before pitting. Curious move by Larson to block his own teammate.
7:48 p.m.: The Fox crew wondering whether Kurt Busch is suffering the same fate as his Chip Ganassi Racing teammate, Ross Chastain. He exited Sunday's race with a broken oil pump belt.
7:47 p.m.: Kurt Busch had to split a couple racers to get onto pit row ... actually he's heading to the garage. We'll find out what's going on with him.
7:43 p.m.: And there's Elliott moving past Larson for his first lead of the day. Good work by him after consistently closing the gap for much of the second stage. Plus, he split Larson and Josh Bilicki to take the lead.
7:29 p.m.: Larson, Elliott, Harvick, Byron, Kyle Busch, Truex, Dillon, Bowman, Stenhouse and Bubba Wallace make up your top 10 heading into Stage 2 after the pit. Reddick fell out of the top 10 after overshooting his pit and backing up into it. He's 12th.
7:24 p.m.: That stage win, by the way, was Larson's NASCAR-leading seventh of the season. He led 95 out of 100 laps.
7:20 p.m.: Caution 1, Lap 100. And that does it for a relatively uneventful Stage 1. Larson takes the stage win, followed by Elliott, Byron, Harvick, Dillon, Kyle Busch, Truex, Tyler Reddick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Alex Bowman in the top 10, respectively.
6:59 p.m.: Per the Fox telecast, Ross Chastain's car has suffered a broken oil pump belt. His crew will try to replace it but that could very well spell the end of his day.
6:58 p.m.: And now DiBenedetto surrenders the lead by pitting. Larson overtakes Alfredo and regains the lead.
6:57 p.m.: Meanwhile, DiBenedetto takes over first place after Keselowski pits for the first time.
6:56 p.m.: Curious. Ryan Blaney is in for his second stop. He's getting work done on his car, so something must have gone awry in the first pit.
6:54 p.m.: Brad Keselowski, Matt DiBenedetto, Anthony Alfredo, Larson and Elliott make up your top five, respectively, after the pit. William Byron, Kevin Harvick, Austion Dillon, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. round out the top 10.
6:53 p.m.: A portion of the field is pitting on Lap 50. Believe that costs Larson the lead for the first time today, as well.
6:48 p.m.: Kyle Busch is making moves. He's currently No. 7 after starting the race in the 20th position.
6:40 p.m.: Elliott has moved up one spot, but still trails race leader Kyle Larson by nearly a second. Larson has the entire first quarter of Stage 1.
6:30 p.m.: Reminder: No competition caution for today's race. Stages 1, 2 and 3 and 4 will each last 100 laps, making the Coca-Cola 600 the only four-stage race in NASCAR. There will be a moment of remembrance after Stage 2.
6:28 p.m.: And they're off!
6:23 p.m.: The cars are out on the track. Green flag should wave here any minute now.
