President Trump held what is expected to be his final rally of the 2020 campaign in the same Michigan city where he concluded his 2016 campaign.

Mr. Trump came to Grand Rapids, Mich., for the late-night event Monday, concluding a five-city tour that day. The president said he wanted to come back, acknowledging he can be “little bit superstitious.”

Kicking off a rally at about midnight, the president told the cheering crowd: “We made history together four years ago and tomorrow we’re going to make history once again.”

The president was joined by Vice President Mike Pence and all his adult children for his final rally of the day. Mr. Trump thanked his family from the stage.

“No matter what happens tomorrow, I’m very proud of you all,” Mr. Trump said, before joking that if he lost “I’ll never speak to them again.”

Earlier, thousands of Trump supporters waited up to six hours in 40 degree temperatures in Kenosha, Wisc., to hear the president.

Supporters were overwhelmingly optimistic that both the media and the polls were again underestimating the president’s popularity and believed he was heading for a decisive win on Tuesday.

“This is the silent majority,” said Kathy Lio, who stood inside a warming tent at the rally wearing a Trump hat. She voted for Mr. Trump in 2016 and felt certain Mr. Trump would prevail this year. “It’s like Groundhog Day all over again," she said.

Supporters waited in a mile long line that snaked along the access road of Kenosha Regional Airport where Mr. Trump spoke. Organizers handed out red baseball caps that said 'Make America Great Again' and told supporters they needed to have a mask with them but did not need to wear it. Most wore them anyway.

Mr. Trump spoke for about an hour to his supporters, who laughed at his jokes, applauded his boasts and echoed his jeers when he mentioned Democratic nominee Joe Biden or his running mate Kamala Harris. When Mr. Trump mentioned Hunter Biden, Joe Biden's son, and his business dealings, the crowd chanted, “Lock him up.”

Chuck Mueller and his 18-year-old son Brent were among many supporters who drove in from Illinois to attend the event. The pair said they had been standing nearly eight hours by the time they left the rally.

Both said they will vote for Mr. Trump tomorrow and were going to be sore.

“He will win, definitely,” said the elder Mr. Mueller. “He has to, socialism doesn’t work.”
