LYNDHURST, Ohio -- Kidnapping: Aldersgate Drive

At 8:30 p.m. Sept. 14, a Mayfield Heights woman, 50, went to the police department lobby to report that she had been kidnapped. The woman said she was at the home of a Lyndhurst man, 66, and that he would not allow her to leave.

The man and woman had been friends. Police arrested the man at his home Sept. 16 and charged him with kidnapping, aggravated assault and robbery.

Violation of department of health order: Cedar Road

At 6:15 p.m. Sept. 20, police were called to Chipotle Mexican Grill, 24369 Cedar Road, where an employee reported that a woman was in the restaurant with a child and and they weren’t wearing masks. An argument developed over whether a child under 10 should be wearing a mask.

The woman and her child departed before police arrived.

Customer trouble: Mayfield Road

At 4:05 p.m. Sept. 19, a clerk at the BP of Lyndhurst gas station/convenience store, 5615 Mayfield Road, called police about a customer who was causing a disturbance. The customer, a Lyndhurst woman, 43, was upset because the clerk would not process her purchase. The customer had been previously told she was not allowed on the property due to a prior incident.

Police issued the woman a criminal trespass warning.

Theft: Edgefield Road

At 6:35 a.m. Sept. 19, a resident reported that someone stole three political signs from his property.

Customer trouble: Mayfield Road

At 11:30 p.m. Sept. 18, a clerk at BP of Lyndhurst reported that a male came into the store to buy a cigar and became upset when he was asked for an ID. The customer knocked over a store display and threatened to come behind the counter before leaving in an SUV.

The clerk gave police what he thought was the SUV’s license plate number, but the given number did not match any vehicles.

Bomb threat: Mayfield Road

At 4:50 p.m. Sept. 17, it was reported that the sales and service departments at Tesla Motors, 5180 Mayfield Road, had received emails that included possible bomb threats.
