In a crowded heavyweight division, Dillian Whyte has spent years as the odd man out. Rather than wait on the world title picture to shake out between Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua to cash in his status as WBC mandatory challenger, Whyte will step into the ring on Saturday against the aging but still dangerous Alexander Povetkin.
Whyte is on an 11-fight winning streak, and during that time, he has picked up various secondary titles, including the WBC interim championship he'll put up against Povetkin. The challenger's two career losses came in attempts to challenge for unified heavyweight titles -- first against Wladamir Klitschko and then against Anthony Joshua. In his most recent fight, Povetkin battled to a draw with Michael Hunter.
