It seems that in recent weeks, all anyone can talk about is Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s decision to step back from their roles as senior royals. The announcement came as quite a shock, and there are still many details of “Megxit” that have not been worked out.
Fans definitely have questions, and we can only imagine that the answers will be revealed as time goes on. Everyone was pretty much blind-sighted by the fact that Meghan and Prince Harry have resigned from their royal duties, and we also can’t help but wonder what the members of the royal family are discussing in private.
Queen Elizabeth did release a statement regarding her grandson and his wife, saying that she supports what they have decided to do and that she will always care for them as beloved members of her family. Although we haven’t heard much from Prince Charles regarding “Megxit,” there is definitely some talk about how Prince Harry and Meghan’s decision gave the future king exactly what he wanted.

Everyone knows that Prince Harry and Meghan were unhappy with royal life. The couple desperately wanted privacy, and the intense media scrutiny that they had been dealing with for several years was giving them anything but that.
Things got so bad at one point that Prince Harry made the unexpected move of releasing a statement expressing concern for Meghan’s safety. They have been under so much pressure, and we can’t even imagine how it must have been affecting them.
Now that Meghan and Prince Harry have decided to split their time between Canada and the United Kingdom, fans are certain that they are doing what makes them happy. By stepping back, they can hopefully have the privacy that they need and deserve and be able to spend more time with each other and Baby Archie out of the spotlight of royal life.
It will be great to see Meghan and Prince Harry in their new roles, enjoying the new life that they have been looking forward to for quite some time now.
Prince Charles had wanted to cut back on the number of working royals
Roles within the royal family can be a bit confusing. There are quite a few people in the family, however, not all of them are considered to be “working royals.”
So, what is a working royal? It is someone who carries out official duties and engagements on behalf of the queen. Other family members, such as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, have regular jobs.
According to New Idea, Prince Charles, who is next in line to the throne, had been hoping to actually cut back on the number of working royals. This decision came quite recently, and he was talking about having only himself and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall — and his sons and their wives — as the only working royals.
As such, the only family members entitled to receive a salary from the Sovereign Grant.

Although many people might think that the royal family is disappointed that Meghan and Prince Harry have decided to leave, it looks like they gave Prince Charles exactly what he wanted. Since he had wanting to cut back, their leaving should actually be making him happy in a way.
While no one can possibly know what is being said behind closed doors, we can imagine that Meghan and Prince Harry’s resignation may be a good thing for Prince Charles. While it will be hard for fans to see them step back from their roles, as long as they are happy, then the decision was the right one for them to make.
