Bobby Lashley will have an opportunity to become a world champion on Monday night, an accomplishment that has eluded him across more than 15 years and two stints in WWE. Lashley will face WWE champion The Miz in the main event of Raw this week from the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Miz won the WWE championship at Elimination Chamber, taking advantage of then-champion Drew McIntyre defending the title inside the Chamber and a Lashley attack to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank contract and win the title. The following night, it was revealed that Miz had promised Lashley a title shot in return for attacking McIntyre, lining up the opportunity for Lashley to take the title as WrestleMania looms on the horizon.
Lashley spoke to CBS Sports ahead of the title opportunity, citing a newfound confidence after some stumbles early in his return to WWE in 2018 as central to his recent success. Check out the full interview, which includes Lashley's thoughts on Miz as a high-level talent in the WWE universe.
