In what was supposed to be the first marqee "Thursday Night Football" matchup of the season, the Week 5 game between the Bears and the Buccanneers ended up being one of the scrappiest, lowest-scoring games of the season.
Chicago was able to secure a 20-19 win thanks to a 38-yard field goal by Cairo Santos with 1:13 left to play.
The second half felt more like a penalty shootout in soccer than a football game, with both kickers taking turns giving their team the lead. And the difference in this one was that the Bears got the last kick, as Tom Brady's pass on fourth down on the final drive was broken up.

Tampa Bay jumped out to the early lead in the first quarter, with Ryan Succop nailing a 39-yard field goal on the opening drive. A couple possessions later, Brady led a drive that ended with a slant pass in the end zone to Mike Evans on third-and-goal, giving the Buccaneers a 10-0 lead. Succop hit a 35-yard field goal to give them a 13-0 lead with 7:03 to play in the opening half.
The Bears hadn't been able to get much going up to that point, but on the ensuing possession Bears quarterback Nick Foles was finally able to lead a TD drive, which was capped off by a 3-yard run by David Montgomery. That made it 13-7 with 1:48 to play in the second quarter.
A few plays later, Kyle Fuller forced a fumble and Chicago recovered at the Tampa Bay 27. Foles then hit Jimmy Graham in the back of the end zone for a 12-yard TD to give the Bears a 14-13 lead before halftime.
Brady and the Bucs' offensive line struggled to deal with the Bears' pressure throughout the game, giving up three sacks and committing seven penalties (five enforced). Brady finished with a so-so line of 25-of-41 passing for 253 yards and a TD.
Foles may not have looked as flashy as he did during the Eagles' Super Bowl run in 2018, but he was competent enough to get the job done down the stretch. He finished the game completing 30 of 42 passes for 243 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
