This holiday season, Prince Harry is bringing a message of comfort to children who have lost a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.

Earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex dressed up as Santa Claus for a holiday video, which was played during a Christmas party put on by the U.K.-based bereavement charity Scotty's Little Soldiers.

"Ho ho ho! Hi guys, everyone at Scotty's little soldiers! I hope you're having an amazing time ... Please cause as much chaos as humanly possible," Harry says in the clip, encouraging a vibrant holiday celebration. But then, the royal took on a more serious tone, addressing the importance of having support when dealing with grief.

"I also want to encourage you guys to look around and realize that you are part of a family, part of of an amazing community and that there is support for you every single day should you need it," he says.

Prince Harry also spoke candidly about how difficult it can be to lose a parent, a challenge he unfortunately knows well.

"Yes, losing a parent is incredibly hard, but I know that every single one of you, by helping each other out, that you will have an amazing future ahead of you, and you're going to have a fantastic Christmas as well," he says.

"So, the last thing from me is, your parents will never be forgotten, and you will never be forgotten."

Nikki Scott, the founder of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, decided to share Prince Harry's message publicly after seeing just how strongly it impacted the children at the party.

"We’re so grateful to The Duke of Sussex for kindly recording a video message for the bereaved Forces children that attended the Scotty’s Little Soldiers Christmas party earlier this month," she wrote in a post on the charity's website.

"It can be a difficult time of year for these kids, so receiving a heartfelt message from Prince Harry really meant the world to them. The message was a surprise and the look on their faces was priceless. In the Christmas spirit, we thought we would share it here for all to enjoy!”
