Joaquin Phoenix Drops F-Bombs in Golden Globes Speech – Here’s What Got Bleeped - TheWrap

When Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor in a Drama at the Golden Globes for his role in “Joker” on Sunday, he managed to drop a few f-bombs in his acceptance speech.

“We all know there’s no f—ing competition between us,” Phoenix said of his fellow nominees in the category. “I’m your f—ing student. I can’t believe the beautiful mesmerizing, unique work that you’ve all done this year, but I really do feel honored to be mentioned with you.”

Later on, the actor continued his foul-mouthed ways and kept the NBC censors busy. “Contrary to popular belief, I don’t want to rock the boat, but the boat is f—ing rocked.”

Phoenix won for playing Arthur Fleck in Todd Phillips’ grittier take on the DC Comics villain Joker. Earlier in the evening, “Joker” also won the Golden Globe for best original score.

“Joker” has exceeded even the wildest of expectations doing what no R-rated film has done before: gross $1 billion at the global box office.

“Joker” joins last year’s “Aquaman” ($1.14 billion) and the two Christopher Nolan Batman sequels, “The Dark Knight” ($1 billion) and “The Dark Knight Rises” ($1.08 billion) to cross the $1 billion. The other movies are “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pt. 2,” ($1.34 billion), “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King” ($1.12 billion) and “The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey” ($1.01 billion).
