Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas were the big winners of the 2020 Grammy Awards, as they took home five trophies each at the Jan. 26 ceremony. And in turn, sales of Eilish's albums and songs soared in the U.S., according to initial sales reports to Nielsen Music.
In total, Eilish’s catalog of albums and songs sold 15,000 copies on Jan. 26 – up 109% compared to the 7,000 they sold on Jan. 25.
Eilish made Grammy history as the first woman, and second artist ever, to win the top four categories in the same year: album of the year (for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?), record of the year, song of the year (both for “Bad Guy”) and best new artist. Eilish also took home the best pop vocal album trophy (also for When We All Fall Asleep). As for Finneas, as the producer of the album, as well as the producer and co-writer of "Bad Guy" with Eilish, he also won album of the year, record of the year and song of the year. He also won producer of the year, as well as best engineered album, non-classical (as one of the engineers of When We All Fall Asleep).
Eilish also performed on the CBS broadcast of the Grammy Awards, singing "When the Party's Over" from When We All Fall Asleep.
Eilish’s two albums (When We All Fall Asleep, and Don’t Smile at Me) sold a little more than 2,000 copies on Jan. 26 (up 46% from a little under 2,000 on the day previous), while her songs sold 13,000 downloads (up 127% from 6,000). Isolating just When We All Fall Asleep and “Bad Guy,” they posted gains of 54% (2,000 sold, up from 1,000) and 202% (4,000 sold, up from 1,000), respectively.
