Miley Cyrus can definitely see herself getting married again, but whether or not that union will last longer than her marriage to Liam Hemsworth is questionable.
Ever since her very public and messy split from Hemsworth, many fans were certain that the singer was over marriage and wouldn’t want to go down that route again.
While her breakup from the actor hasn’t stopped her from getting back into the dating scene, it also hasn’t inspired her to walk down the aisle a second time. But she’s not writing off the idea of marriage entirely.
Miley Cyrus hasn’t written off getting married again
After experiencing the end of her marriage, a short-lived fling, and a newfound relationship all in the span of a month, Cyrus seems to be looking forward to what the future holds for her love life.
Though her split from Hemsworth was unexpected, the “Slide Away” crooner isn’t letting that short-lived marriage stop her from envisioning a future of marital bliss.
Recently, Cyrus responded to a fan who has one major goal set for the upcoming year: “Getting married to @mileycyrus in 2020.”
The singer’s admirer wasn’t afraid to let their true feelings known. And it seems like Cyrus is definitely up for the commitment. But she doesn’t anticipate her second marriage lasting very long.
“It probably won’t last long,” she wrote back. “But always down to try, You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Though Cyrus was making a joke out of the person’s comment, that hasn’t stop fans from questioning whether or not she actually does see herself getting married again — especially after everything she experienced during her marriage to Hemsworth.
The former couple were on-and-off for 10 years before tying the knot back in December 2018. Seven months later, they announced they were separating.
“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” a spokesperson for Cyrus said in a statement at the time of their split. “They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
The singer has come to terms with her failed marriage
While Cyrus and Hemsworth did seem to love each other, they quickly realized that their marriage wasn’t working. They weren’t on the same page when it came to making marital decisions together.
“After they reunited, everyone thought they were this ‘perfect’ couple, but they still had a lot of issues,” a source told People back in August. “They’re not on the same page when it comes to a lot of fundamental things that make a relationship work,” the source added. “It’s not surprising at all.”
Since their split made headlines, the “Wrecking Ball” singer has spoken at length about coming to terms with their breakup.
Instead of putting all the blame on one person, Cyrus admits that personal growth and change was what actually lead to their breakup.
“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” Cyrus shared on Instagram following the news of her breakup. “My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but is always on time.’ … It fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true.”
While Cyrus appears to no longer dwell on her marriage coming to an end, it seems that it will definitely be a while before she heads down the aisle again.
