Kate Middleton news: Are Kate, William and the children at Sandringham yet? - Express

, , and their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – are all spending Christmas at Sandringham this year. No official statement has been made but one certainly would have if the family planned to spend it elsewhere.

Are the Cambridges at Sandringham yet?

The Cambridge family are expected to be at Sandringham by now.

Festivities begin on Christmas Eve for the royals and the family would not have wanted to miss out.

Most exciting for the children will be the gift exchange, which takes place in the evening for the  and her children and on Christmas Day for the youngest royals.

A black-tie dinner will take place once the kids are in bed and Prince William and Kate will be expected to attend it.

Another clear sign the family is expected for Christmas this year is their Christmas photograph next to the Queen for her Christmas message.

In the pre-recorded message, the Queen sits at a desk featuring photographs of her family, also including one of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, and a black-and-white image of the Queen’s father, King George VI.

The adorable Cambridge snap shows the family sitting on and around a motorbike and sidecar in a summery setting.

The card was emailed to friends and colleagues on Monday, with hard copies sent to family.

The Queen will use her annual Christmas address this year to acknowledge that 2019 has been “quite bumpy”.

She will say the path is never “smooth“ but “small steps” can heal divisions.

The message comes after a year of intense political and societal debate over Brexit and the future of the UK on a global stage.

There have also been multiple difficult moments for the Queen personally.

Her husband, Prince Philip, 98, has spent the past four nights in hospital for a “pre-existing condition”.

In January, the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a car crash while driving near the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. He escaped uninjured but two women required hospital treatment.

Then in September, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly revealed their struggles under the media spotlight during their tour of southern Africa.

And perhaps most significant is the scandal surrounding Prince Andrew, the Queen’s son, over his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in August.
