Recently, Kardashian West shelled out thousands of dollars to rent out her childhood home for her mother’s birthday. In addition to that, the KKW Fragrance owner also rented every single luxury vehicle that her parents ever owned. However, she seems to have outdone herself this Christmas. Alongside her husband, she gifted her oldest kid, North West, a priceless present.

North West, who is the eldest of the Wests’ kids, is six years old and has a love of fashion and music. In order to honor that, they gave her a very expensive and one-of-a-kind present for the holiday. According to Kardashian West, the six-year-old has a deep admiration for the late singer Michael Jackson. Taking to her Instagram story, she shared North’s gift with her 153 million followers via a video.

“For Christmas, Kanye and I gave North this jacket. And this was Michael’s Jackson’s jacket that he wore with Elizabeth Taylor. And North is a really big Michael Jackson fan. And we knew she would love this, so we won this on an auction for Northie for Christmas and we had it like tacked up so she can wear it. And the sleeves are half tacked up so when she gets older, we can like untack this sleeve, and it can like grow with her and she can have this for her whole life. And she is so grateful and so excited,” the 39-year-old shared about her gift to North West.
Critics feel the gift is not age-appropriate
The gift, which probably came at a very high price, is certainly a collector’s item. According to Kardashian West, it’s something that North enjoys. But, some people didn’t find the gift age-appropriate. “Why do rich people ALWAYS get children gifts that only adults want? ma get her Disney princess dolls with the big castle instead,” one person wrote on Twitter. “That jacket belongs to a museum and shouldn’t be put in the hands of a 7-years-old,” another commented. “It belongs to a museum. That’s memorabilia that should be preserved and not given to a 7-year-old,” a Michael Jackson fan co-signed. “’She’s such a big fan of Michael Jackson’ North just gonna dribble on it and get food down it. Lmao Michael, I’m so sorry,” one skeptic declared.
Fans support the Christmas present
Others thought the gift was a sweet way for Kardashian West and her husband to acknowledge their daughter’s love of the performer. “I love the Kardashians/K-W’s love for Michael. They grew up with him and Kim even dated MJ’s nephew TJ. What an amazing gift for North,” one fan shared. “That child is blessed. MJ was an icon and will forever be. While we agree that getting a child a Michael Jackson jacket might be extravagant, when you have wealth like Kardashian West and West, money is no object.
